Growth and Development: Teen Years (12 to 18 Years Old)
Reasons for teen dating Teens date in order to: - Go out and do things with friends of the opposite sex.
- Have fun, enjoyment, and recreation.
- Have social status among their peers. Some teenagers who
do not begin dating when their friends do may be dropped from that social
group.
- Be independent from their parents.
- Obtain love, affection, and friendship.
- Experiment with sex and/or choose a mate.
